Its been another busy few months for all at Tawse Taxis.
The tail end of April saw the Speyside Whisky Festival kick off sending every taxi service in Moray into a frenzy of distillery visits and nights out…
We have seen visitors from all over the world Sweden, Germany and most recently Nigeria and South Africa, all wonderfully interesting folk who had fantastic stories to tell about their homelands. It has been a pleasure and really good laugh meeting everyone I have so far this year, and I’m sure I’ll meet much more…
Only a few days of the spring break left for some of us, but even tho we have missed the kids banter it’s been busy enough to keep our wheels rolling.
Soon the Spring Speyside Whisky Festival 2016 will be round again starting on the 28th of April through to the 2nd of May. With that in mind make sure you get those bookings in early enough to Tawse Taxis taking you places!
We waved goodbye to another group visiting from our friends at Campari on Friday.
After a week and a taste of what Speyside has to offer they are all destined to come back soon. With Glen Grant and Glenfiddich Whisky followed by meals at The Sunninghill Hotel Elgin and 1629 Restaurant in Lossiemouth, we transported our clients back to the newly opened Station Hotel in Rothes for a great nights sleep. Ready to wake to another beautiful day in Moray.
On Friday we said an emotional goodbye to our Campari visitors from Switzerland. With new friendships formed during our 3 day trip together I was sorry
We welcomed them all at Aberdeen airport on Wednesday and with the sun shining journeyed to Craigellachie to see the Speyside Cooperage at work. We also received a warm welcome from Glen Grant distillery, and The Glen Rothes distillery. The House of Mulben tested their skills at clay pigeon shooting just as storm Abigail began to close in, so onward and indoors out of the rain to Johnsons of Elgin. Day two saw us visit Dufftowns famous Whisky Shop.. and with bags loaded a quick nip at The Vic pub in Rothes took us back to Glen Grant for some sustenance .
We have had a fantastic time with our visitors from Switzerland, you have been a great laugh and your lively enthusiasm is matched by your kindness, we even received a gifts of Swiss chocolate from them, which was lovely by the way! thank you..
We had two lovely groups on this trip to Glenlivet, my group were from Norway and kept the laughter going along their 4 day trip around Moray, Visiting Ben Rinnes on the way back to The Fife Arms in Dufftown, on this occasion the weather was closing in so a hike to the summit wasn’t possible, never mind onward to Glenfiddich then Balvenie for another wee dram before a wonderful evening meal at the Craigellachie Hotels Copper Dog restaurant.
Meanwhile James drove his group to Glenfarclas a family owned distillery where the group went on a connoisseur’s tour and tasting.
This year we have welcomed people from all over the globe including Hong Kong, Peru, Madrid, and Japan along with our fun loving neighbours visiting from Europe Norway and Sweden.
